Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Kiso Technologies Private Limited (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use the Zenly mobile app and related services (the “App”). It applies to people who use the App to start sessions. It does not apply to our corporate website, which has its own policy.
In short: we collect what we need to run the App, we monitor sessions for safety, we do not sell your personal information, and you can delete your account in the App at any time.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details such as your name or display name, and your email address or phone number.
- Confirmation that you are 18 or older, and your date of birth where needed to verify age.
- Your preferences: languages you speak and the categories you choose.
- An optional profile photo.
- Messages you send to our support team, and reports you file.
Information created when you use the App
- Session information: which category and person you chose, whether the session was audio or video, when it began and ended, and how many coins were used.
- Your coin balance and purchase history. Payments are processed by Apple; we receive confirmation of a purchase but not your payment card details.
- Reports and blocks you make or that are made about you.
Device and technical information
- Device model, operating system, app version, language settings, IP address, crash logs and diagnostics.
- A push notification token, if you allow notifications.
Permissions
The App asks for access to your microphone for audio sessions and your camera for video sessions, and to send notifications. These are used only to provide those features. You can change permissions at any time in your device settings.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account, and to provide sessions and the coin balance.
- To match you with people by category and, where we can, by language.
- To process purchases and maintain accurate records.
- To keep people safe. Sessions are monitored for safety. We use session information and reports to detect and act on conduct that breaks our Community Guidelines, and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- To provide support and respond to reports and grievances.
- To maintain, secure and improve the App, and to fix problems.
- To send service messages and, if you opt in, other communications.
- To meet legal obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
3. Legal bases
We process your information with your consent, to perform our agreement with you, to comply with law, and, where laws such as the GDPR apply, for our legitimate interests in operating a safe and reliable service. Where processing relies on your consent you may withdraw it at any time through the App settings or by contacting us.
4. What other people can see
People you speak with in a session can see your display name and any profile photo you add, the language you chose, and whatever you share during the session, including your voice and, in a video session, your image. We do not share your email address, phone number or other contact details with them. Please don’t share sensitive personal details in a session unless you are comfortable doing so.
5. Who we share information with
- Service providers that help us run the App, such as cloud hosting, real-time audio and video infrastructure, customer support, analytics, crash reporting and safety tools. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Apple, in connection with purchases and App Store services.
- Authorities and advisers where required by law, court order or to protect people from serious harm.
- Successors in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, who must honour this policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Retention and account deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the App under Settings. After deletion we remove or anonymise your personal information, generally within 30 days, except what we must keep, for example transaction records required by tax and accounting laws, and records needed to resolve disputes, enforce our policies or protect safety. Safety records related to reports may be kept for as long as needed for those purposes.
7. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may:
- access a summary of your personal data;
- correct or update it in the App or by contacting us;
- erase it by deleting your account;
- withdraw consent, and manage notifications and permissions;
- nominate someone to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity;
- raise a grievance with us.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or California, you may have further rights, such as to object to or restrict processing, to portability and to non-discrimination. To exercise any right, contact us from the email linked in the App or below. We may need to verify your identity.
8. Children
Zenly is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we will close it and delete the information. If you believe this has happened, please contact us.
9. Security
We use technical and organisational safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password and keep your device secure.
10. International transfers
We operate globally, and your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including India. Where we transfer data, we take steps required by applicable law to protect it.
11. Not medical information
The App is not a medical service. Information you share in a session is not handled as health records, and the people you speak with are not healthcare providers. Please don’t rely on the App for medical help.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We may or may not tell you about a change in the App, so please visit this page regularly to see the latest version. The “Last updated” date at the bottom of this website shows when it was most recently revised. If you keep using the App after a change, that means you accept the updated policy.
